Point San Pedro Road New Tree Survey Results and Action Plan

Representatives of the Point San Pedro Road Coalition, the Glenwood Homeowners’ Association and affected residents of Glenwood  have been working with the San Rafael Public Works Director and the Point San Pedro Road Median Landscape Design Project architect  in an effort to develop a reasonable solution to address concerns by area residents that the landscape design of the San Pedro Road medians between Main Drive and Fire Station #55 is not consistent with the tree planting on other medians along the Point San Pedro Road.

The group's goal was to come up with a plan the allowed for additional trees to be planted on the two medians that:

  1. Were consistent with the general landscape design plan for all of the Point San Pedro Road medians.
  2. Were consistent with safety requirements that provide for clear views of vehicles entering and leaving the streets off of Point San Pedro Road.
  3. Provide reasonable accommodation of bay views for those residents whose homes are located adjacent to Point San Pedro Road.
  4. Provide accommodation of bay views of those driving on Point San Pedro Road or walking adjacent to the roadway.
